We headed north from Playa Samara. Picking up drugs along the way. Legal drugs from the pharmacies. I use an inhaler that costs about $250 dollars in the states and about $78 dollars in Costa Rica. We pay for our trip (or pay for most of our trip) by what we save on these inhalers. This year we bought enough for 2 years and it took many pharmacy stops.
Once we entered Cocos we needed to find a hotel. We stayed at the second place we tried. Coco Beach Hotel and Casino was right in the center of Town. We could have found something better and less expensive, but we were tired and the beds were super comfy. The room could have been cleaner though. Only place we stayed at that was a bit dirty.
The promenade at Playas del Cocos. Sportfishing is king here.
Cactus on the beach. This area was the farthest north we stayed and it was the driest too.
My typical dinner of rice, black beans, fish and salad. This one was from Coconutz an American style sports bar. There were many Americans and Canadians in Cocos. it was a bit crazy and we had fun watching the drunks.
Playa Ocotal to the south had ok snorkeling. The visibility could have been better, but the location was lovely.
The real highlight for us was our sunset sail on the Kuna Vela.
We saw dolphins and whales and sailed quickly past other sailboats. It was fun.
There was only one other couple on the cruise, so we almost had the boat to ourselves. The crew was fantastic as well.
The sunset didn’t fail to impress either.
Peace Out. Until next time
